California never really left us.

Golden light. Open roads. Early mornings. That particular nostalgia that feels like time slowed down somewhere in the late 70s. A way of living that’s outdoors, creative and unforced. We were drawn to the natural beauty and diversity, ocean, forest, desert, all within reach.

Cornwall is the closest thing to that in the UK. The same raw coastline. The same Atlantic drama. Just with less sun.

We are both professional athletes. Performance has shaped our lives, discipline, recovery, longevity. What we breathe matters. What fills a space matters. When we started burning candles at home, we wanted them to feel good in every sense. Clean-burning soy wax. Natural wooden wicks. Nothing excessive.

Dr Ian Hendy, PhD Marine Biologist, has spent his career studying ocean ecosystems. For us, the coast isn’t aesthetic, it’s structure, biodiversity and balance. That’s why a portion of every order supports kelp restoration projects in Cornwall. Kelp forests protect coastlines, support marine life and help capture carbon. Supporting their recovery is part of our long-term commitment.
